- Waller-Bridge said that everything fell into place while creating the Hot Priest character after deciding that his favorite song would be "Jenny from the Block."
- Fleabag's Critics' Choice win comes a week after its Golden Globe triumph.
As if the Hot Priest couldn't get any hotter, Fleabag creator and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge just revealed that his favorite song is "Jenny from the Block."
Waller-Bridge dropped the bomb while accepting her Critics' Choice Award for Best Comedy Series last night. "This means such a massive amount especially after seeing who we are nominated with. There is bad acting on my part. You have no idea how much you can accidentally inspire someone by your work," the actress said, via People. "And someone inspired this show and that's J.Lo. I decided that the priest's favorite song was 'Jenny from the Block' and it opened the whole character up for me."
Jennifer Lopez was also in attendance at the awards ceremony, after earning a Best Supporting Actress nomination for her role in Hustlers.
With lyrics like "Love my life and my public / Put God first / Then can't forget to stay real / To me it's like breathing," it's no wonder that the Hot Priest (made famous by Andrew Scott, who won the Critics' Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his Fleabag role) is a J.Lo fan.
